Greenport, Shelter Island & the North Fork of Long Island - New York
This is a collection of photographs that was included in my exhibition at the South Street Gallery in the fall of 2008. The exhibition included photographs I shot during the summer of 2008 and also some photographs from my portfolio of Ireland. I've also included many photographs that were not included in the exhibition. One thing for certain, the summer of 2008 that I spent out in Greenport is a summer that I will never forget!
In an effort to ensure that what you are seeing is what we are seeing, we include this gray scale step wedge. It is useful for approximately evaluating the brightness, contrast & colour of your monitor. All the grays should be neutral and there should be a nice smooth transition from 0% to 100%. Ideally you should see a separation of tone between 100% & 95%, for sure between 95% & 90%. If you don't see this separation your monitor is too dark and/or contrasty. Additionally, you should see separation of tone between 5% and 0%. If you don't see this separation, your monitor is too bright and/or contrasty. If you'd like, adjust your monitor until the gray step wedge appears as described. All the best & happy viewing, Kevin
